Valentine’s Day Craft Ideas from Recycled Toilet Paper Roll

Toilet paper: it’s just one of life’s necessities. We all have rolls in our homes, offices, and work sites and they can get used up pretty fast! Before you throw that next empty cardboard roll away, keep in mind that February 14th is approaching fast.

No, we’re definitely not recommending giving your sweetheart a roll of TP for Valentine’s Day (even if the first anniversary is the “paper” anniversary). Instead, here’s a list of fun crafts and projects that take advantage of that prevalent cardboard tube.

Moms and teens alike can team up to turn old cardboard tubes into a super cute wreath just in time to show some love. Cut up several rolls into rings no more than 1/2 inch wide and squash them gently into oblong petal shapes. Glue 5-6 of these petals together for a flower and turn a bunch of flowers into a full wreath. Add some paint, glitter, or a bow and you’re all set.  Here’s an example

Many of these projects are great for all ages and make family time even more exciting. Working together to decorate the house, office, or classroom is a fantastic way to bring everyone closer. It’s so fun and easy to decorate for Valentine’s Day when you use recycled materials like toilet paper rolls. The holiday’s colors might be red, white, and pink but when you reuse paper goods instead of just throwing them away, you can make this February 14th a green holiday!
