These are a few of our favorite [fall] things

Cooler weather, crunching leaves and pumpkin carving – We’re glad fall is here! We’re sharing a few of our favorite fall activities with you.

Pumpkin Patch

Now that it’s officially sweater weather, the crew at Don’s Johns is really “falling” for all the great activities to do in the DMV area! There are fall festivals, pumpkin picking and more to get you in the mood for the season. We asked members of the Don’s Johns team where they enjoy going with friends and families this season.

International Gold Cup

This year’s International Gold Cup takes place on Saturday, October 22, at Great Meadow in The Plains, Virginia. The first International Gold Cup was held more than 80 years ago, and it is still the highlight of the fall steeplechase season.

Cox Farms Fall Festival

The Fall Festival at Cox Farms is one of the top farm festivals in the area. With local tastings, farm animals, the Cornundrum, Imaginature Trail and more, Cox Farms offers a large variety of unique and fun ways to celebrate the fall season.

Hartland Orchard

Apple CiderHartland Orchard, located about an hour west from D.C., is another farm full of fall fun. Their pumpkin patch is great for finding pumpkins to carve for Halloween and the apple orchard has delicious apples to pick for homemade apple pies. It’s also fun to watch them make fresh apple cider right in front of you!

Bonus: After Thanksgiving, you can visit Hank’s Christmas Tree at Hartland Farm and cut your own Christmas tree.
