Starting from Scratch: How to Plan a Successful Beach Location Wedding Reception!

When your boyfriend finally pops the BIG QUESTION, You, the new bride-to-be has a whirlwind of things to do!!!!

Things like what dress should I wear, what flowers should I pick, should I even use flowers, etc  will be on your mind!!  Not only will you begin to stress about the location for the ceremony and the reception, but you will also begin to think about your life together after the wedding!portable-toilets

My New Clients Jamie & John called on Events by Stephanie to help plan their BIG DAY!  This couple knew they wanted to have a Beach site Ceremony with a Beach Site Reception right away!

As we began to work the details for their big day I said to them, When planning a beach location event, you first want to make sure that you have cleared this event with the park & planning association!  You don’t want to be caught planning your reception and or wedding, only to find out later that you can’t use the space!!  In some cases you may need a permit!

Next you want to think about the number of guests you want to invite, making sure that you provide an adequate amount of chairs and tables for your guests!  It is also important to know the type of reception you want to have; a sit down dinner, a buffet style dinner or a Cocktail style reception with heavy Hors d’oeuvres

Once these items are checked off, you can move on to other items such as tents, caterers, portable toilets, reception decorations, etc.

Every wedding reception needs a great caterer! When looking for a caterer, it is smart to check to see if the catering company has experience in catering beach receptions.  You could run into some major issues if the catering company is not familiar with this type of site.
